About Maple Island Log Homes
Maple Island Log Homes is located in Twin Lake, Michigan, just north and east of Muskegon on the state’s “west coast.” We are the largest handcrafted log home company east of the Rockies, producing approximately 40 log home shells per year.
Over the past 30 years, Maple Island has built handcrafted log homes all over the country, and even the world. From remote, deep forest locales, mountain sides and waterfront property to urban sites in the city and suburbs, Maple Island builds dreams wherever people imagine them.
President Dave Tuxbury apprenticed under the guidance of skilled log handcrafters in Montana for years before moving home to Michigan and founding Maple Island Log Homes in 1977. Dave has never wavered in his love of classic log home handcraftsmanship and has a deep desire to keep these traditional techniques alive.
Building handcrafted log homes is not a side business with us. We don’t sell home kits. We don’t build pre-cut log homes, stick-built homes or residences of any other kind. Custom, handcrafted log homes are our specialty…and the only thing we do.
Rather than trust our good name to dealer representatives or marketers, we work directly with homebuyers or their representatives. You can come directly to us with any concerns, questions, desires or issues. There are no middlemen to get in the way of timely and efficient communication. Ours is a personal, one-on-one approach that keeps you informed, updated and very much in control of your own project.
