Maple Island Hosts Media Day in Log Yard

Twin Lake, Michigan. Maple Island Log Homes, one of the largest and most respected handcrafted log home manufacturers, will host a media day in their log yard, where all log work and assembly takes place.  Media personalities can walk through the process with the Maple Island staff to show viewers and readers skills used in creating authentic handcrafted log homes.

  • Eric Gordon, Vice President of Maple Island Log Homes, will be available for inter-views and provide facts about the log home industry vs. the traditional housing market.
  • Log Yard Tours: See the steps involved in creating true log homes; from the peeling of the tree bark, to scribing and notching of each individual log in true hand-crafter style.
  • Photograph & video the log home process, get home stories including where homes have and will be shipped from Michigan. Outlined, exclusive homeowner stories will also be available.

Maple Island’s team of talented handcrafters create up to 40 log home shells a year, no matter the weather. You will find these crews crafting logs into luxurious homes - one log at a time - in the rain, snow and even Michigan’s seemingly unbearable hot, humid weather. Once completed in the log yard, these shells are disassembled and shipped throughout the country to locations including upstate New York, North Carolina, Northern Michigan and even Alaska!
